Originally a celebration of marriage for Kronprinz Ludwig (1786–1868) and Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen in 1810, the successful festival has been repeated every year since in Bavaria, and has now spread with German communities worldwide. While the celebration at its native Theresienwiese in Bavaria remains the largest and most popular, large and small communities still enjoy beer, German food, music, and games. This year, the Pioneer Village Museum is no exception!

Join us on September 23th for a live polka band, dancing, beer garden, German food, and games for all ages on the beautiful Pioneer Village grounds. Dirndl and lederhosen are enthusiastically welcomed but not required!

This year, the Badger Blacksmiths will be holding their fall meeting during the event, with demonstrations in the blacksmith shop from 1-4 PM. This is an extra bonus for those interested in the art of blacksmithing!
